Corsica
General
Corsica is an island of the south of France and is tagged
the Island of Beauty. It has a Mediterranean climate and varied
terrain from beaches to mountain peas of 8,900 feet.
Towns and Cities
Main towns in Corsica are Bastia (Haute-Corse) and Ajaccio
(Course du Sud)
Access
Corsia is 100 miles south of the French Riviera so probably
the best way to get there from the UK is directly by plane.
Currently air prices are quite expensive.
Places of Interest
Besides the two main towns there are plenty of beaches to
laze on. If you are feeling more energetic there are forests,
mountains, and rivers.
Things to do
Corsica is one of a few selected regions of France where it
makes more sense to go sightseeing rather than laze by all
day by the pool. You can go on tours, or hire a car. Of course,
if you prefer to relax then there are plenty of beaches to
choose from!
Property
Corsica is one of the more expensive regions of France.
Property Investment Value
If you intend buying a property as an investment then then
you may make money as Corsica does attract tourists. If it
is a purely financial decision however you may be better off
buying a property in the French
Alps since there is not only tourism all the year round,
but the area is well served by air, and already is popular
with British tourists.
Cuisine
As with other areas of France the Corsica
has its own cuisine with a Mediterranean touch.
To Conclude
Corsica is a lovely island. Properties are on the expensive
side, and it will cost you money to travel backwards and forth
to the UK. Saying that, if you are looking for a house in
the sun, and have money to spend, it could be the place for
you.
