The Centre region of France is a mixture of countryside, farming, towns and industry.

Towns and Cities
Main towns in the Centre region are Orleans (Loiret), Blois (Loire et Cher), Tours (Indre et Loire), Chateauroux (Indre), Chartres (Eure et Loir), and Bourges (Cher)

Access
The area is very well served by motorways and rail. It is not as well served by air as some other parts of France

Places of Interest
The Loire valley itself has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage. You can visit the Loire marine museum.


Things to do
Printemps de Bourges music festival, Montoire folklore festival, Chateau de Bourges-leChateau, Chateau de Maintenon park, Barres National Arboeturn, national parks (3 of them), and forest of Orleans

Property
The centre regions is not the most sought after region of France. This means that at least you coud pick up property for less if you decide this is the region for you

Property Investment Value
If you intend buying a property as an investment then then you may make money, but you should be aware that if you want to rent out your property there are other regions in France which attract a lot more tourists.

Cuisine
As with other areas of France the Centre is famous for its own cuisine. Dishes include lentils, sausages, and tarte tatin.



To Conclude
Geographically it is a good location if you intend traveling domestically in France. If you want to visit the UK a lot you may find air travel not as convenient as elsewhere. If you are looking for spectacular scenery or warm climates then there are better areas of France too. However prices are reasonable prices so if you are looking for a pemanent base then you may consider this region.
